Brugg/Zollikon - Saxo Bank (Schweiz) AG, the globally operating Swiss online trading bank, has selected green.ch to operate its Swiss IT data centers. green.ch triumphed after an evaluation process that assessed several other global data center providers in this fiercely competitive market. The primary reason why the leading specialist for online trading and investments selected green.ch is the company from Brugg could offer the reliability, flexibility and time to market, while guaranteeing the full range of data center services at an exceptionally professional level (for example ISO 27001 and FINMA certification). The solution has been fully-operational since November 2009.
The contract won by green.ch involves operating a main data center and a backup data center at a second location, providing high-speed and redundant connectivity, plus the supply of business continuity office space and network infrastructure. Ian Keates, COO of Saxo Bank (Schweiz) AG, commented on awarding the contract to green.ch as follows, "Saxo Bank is more than just an online bank. We view ourselves as an organisation which boasts superior technology and which is supported by an exceptionally dedicated team distributed across the globe. Constant, reliable operation of our in-house developed trading platform is a decisive factor for success in our industry. An IT infrastructure with a high degree of availability, based on state-of-the-art technology, is therefore of vital importance. This also applies to the data center sector where, with green.ch, we have found an operator who guarantees reliability, constant availability and flexibility of the highest technical and professional standard."
And Franz Grüter, CEO of green.ch backed this up. "The Saxo Bank contract awarded to green.ch provides impressive testament to our excellent performance and reliability in the provision of innovative and attractive data center services. We are very proud to have won this contract in the face of fierce competition and we are also pleased to be able to serve other international companies in this sector.
